Wrote last month about the NYPD’s search for man pictured above in connection with ten armed robberies/muggings on the UWS. In each case, the suspect allegedly followed his victim into their building before holding them up with either a gun or knife. Police say they now have the man in custody.

Yoselyn Ortega, the nanny accused of killing 2-year-old Leo and 6-year-old Lucia (Lulu) Krim in their Upper West Side apartment in October, has been found fit to stand trial. The decision was based on reports by two psychiatrists and announced in Manhattan Supreme Court earlier today.

While I think of the Upper West Side as a safe place to live, year-end NYPD statistics show a large uptick in felony crime. Police are searching for a man who allegedly robbed two banks on Broadway 15 minutes apart. One of the banks was previously robbed in May 2012.

A 35-year-old woman was allegedly the victim of a sexual assault early Saturday morning in Central Park. The incident took place in almost the exact same spot where a woman was stabbed and three police officers were hurt earlier this month, although the crimes are unrelated.

A 27-year-old Upper West Side woman was sexually assaulted in her building’s elevator earlier this week. The NYPD has released the video above of the man suspected in the attack.

A woman was stabbed and her 4-year-old child was also injured during what appears to be a domestic dispute that took place in Central Park this morning. Police have the suspect in custody.
