Looks like gift/toy store Maxiga has closed — the windows are papered up and no one is answering their phone at their 2233 Broadway location (between 79th & 80th). Maxiga opened on the Upper West Side back in September 2011 (this space used to house a Best Buy Mobile store).

Another weekend, another UWS street fair. Today it’s the annual Committee for Environmentally Sound Development Street Fair. The action runs along Broadway between 60th & 65th Streets, from 12:00 – 5:00 pm.

It was all the way back in January that Juice Press announced it was planning to open two Upper West Side stores. As is common with these things, it took longer than expected to happen, but the first UWS Juice Press opened for business last week at 73 W. 82nd (between Columbus & CPW).

The 12th Annual New York City Irish Dance Festival takes place on the Upper West Side this afternoon. The event is free and there are activities for people of all ages.
