If you’re looking for something to do this weekend, the annual Central Park Ice Festival will take place on Saturday afternoon. The crowd-pleasing event is free and has proven to be popular with both kids and adults alike.

The rain is gone and the sky is getting sunny just in time… Tonight (Thursday, 8/22) marks the start of the the 11th annual Central Park Conservancy Film Festival. There will be free screenings in the park, under the stars, for the next five nights (through Monday, 8/26).
It’s been about three weeks since Pinkberry opened at 414 Amsterdam (near 80th). In another month or two, a Yogurtland will open about 100 feet north at 420 Amsterdam, the long-vacant space that use to house 420 Bar & Lounge.
It’s 7/11 today, which can mean only one thing… The annual Free Slurpee Day at 7-Eleven.
Tomorrow night marks the 37th Annual Macy’s 4th of July Fireworks Show, which will once again take place along the Hudson River. The official start time for the show is 9:00 pm, although it generally tends to be closer to 9:20ish. The fireworks run approximately 25 minutes.
