Clothing Retailer Betsey Johnson Closing; 20% – 50%-Off Liquidation Sale At UWS Location

Catching up on some news that piled up while I was traveling. Women’s clothing retailer Betsey Johnson filed for bankruptcy protection last month and will be closing all its stores. The upshot for Upper West Siders is that there’s now a 20% – 50%-off liquidation sale at the 248 Columbus location (between 71st & 72nd).

UWS Bank Robbed Yesterday Just Five Blocks South Of Where President Obama Was Speaking

I’m still trying to track down details, but apparently someone robbed the Chase bank at 112th & Broadway yesterday afternoon, just five blocks south of where President Obama gave a commencement speech at Barnard.

UWS Subway Closings: Changes On B/D Lines This Week Due To MTA FASTRACK Maintenance

The MTA is continuing its FASTRACK maintenance program this week. If you take the B or D trains (F and M too, but those aren’t UWS specific), be aware there are major service changes over the next four nights from 10:00 pm – 5:00 am.
