Seemed inevitable… Sunday’s ING New York City Marathon has been canceled. h/t to @rztek UPDATE 11/3: Here’s the official message sent out by the New York Road Runners Club on Saturday afternoon:
Posted on Friday about a court order stopping the 10th Annual Broadway Bomb skateboarding event that was slated to start on the Upper West Side on Saturday. Despite the court ruling and a large presence by the NYPD, may skaters turned out and made the 8+ mile trek south — no arrests were reported.

I already have plenty of good reasons to start going [...]

Then NYCRuns series of cheap ($10) 5K races in Riverside Park continues tomorrow evening at 7:00 pm (Wednesday, 6/13). While there’s a chance of rain during the day, the current forecast for race time is mid-60s with only a 20% chance of precipitation. Also (and I’m not not 100% sure what to make of this), [...]

If you’re the running type, there’s a cheap ($10) timed 5K race in Riverside Park tomorrow evening at 7:00 pm (Wednesday, 5/30). There’s a chance of showers earlier in the day, but it looks like it should be decent by the evening.

So this is admittedly somewhat last-minute for something like this, but frequent MUW tipster David H. just passed it along and I figure it might be of interest to someone. If you’re the running type, there’s a timed 5K race in Riverside Park tonight at 7:00 pm. Certainly seems like perfect weather for it.
