The new Lululemon slated for the corner of Broadway & 75th has been in the works February. Branded plywood went up in late May, and now there’s word the store is just a few weeks from opening.

Looks like Drybar is opening a new outpost on the Upper West Side. If you’re not familiar with the chain, don’t walk in expecting a drink — it’s a “blow dry bar.” No cuts. No color. Just blowouts, for only $40.

The Hot & Crusty at 2720 Broadway (104th/105th) seems to have closed suddenly. This doesn’t appear to be a health department closing, as there’s no DOH signage and the “Business is closed” sign is different than the usual “closed for renovations” signage typical in DOH closings.

Things are heating up at the Betsey Johnson liquidation sale (248 Columbus, between 71st & 72nd). It was just last week that they raised their discounts to 50% – 70% off. As of this weekend, the entire store is now 60% – 80% off.

Kitchen Mentioned last week (here & here) that Columbus Tavern (269 Columbus, between 72nd & 73rd) had closed rather suddenly and was rumored to be transforming into a Cuban restaurant. The Betsey Johnson liquidation sale is still in full swing and the discounts have just been jacked up another notch. They started last month with 20% – 50% off, were raised to 40% – 60% about two weeks ago, and now the entire store stands at 50% – 70% off.

Looks like there’s some pre-opening action at the former Roam Boutique space at 488 Amsterdam (between 83rd & 84th). Roam closed earlier this year after seven years in the neighborhood.

Posted last month that Betsey Johnson is closing and having a liquidation sale. At the time, discounts were 20% – 40%; they’ve since been jacked up to 40% – 60% off.

Looks like there’s finally some action brewing in the former 90 Nuts space at 2442 Broadway (near 90th), which has been vacant for awhile.
