New Italian restaurant Machiavelli, mentioned last week, officially opens their doors tonight. MUW reader Kevin sent in this photo a little while ago with a note saying “Training the staff. All complete inside!” In addition to the details initially posted last Tuesday, MUW reader Lisa, who already has a reservation for Friday night (let me [...]

If you couldn’t stand waiting one more day for the official opening of the new UWS Century 21 (Braodway & 66th), the feeling was apparently mutual — the store opened today, one day earlier than planned.

Today was the first day of Century 21′s soft-open and bargain hunters were already on the prowl. @ReporterLeslie was on the scene and reports “the discounts are just as deep, but Century 21′s new Upper West Side store is sleeker, tidier, and more shopper-friendly than its downtown flagship.”

It’s been almost exactly a year since news first broke that the Barnes & Noble at 66th & Broadway was closing and would be replaced by clothing store Century 21. To celebrate that anniversary of sorts, the store now has an official opening date.

Old pal Torrey, friend (and co-founder) of MyUpperWest, checked in with this photo showing that Century 21 has plastered their windows with a teaser to announce their presence with authority. It’s hard to see in the picture, but “Opening Fall 2011″ is written on that banner, so it’s just a matter of time now. If [...]

It’s looking more and more inevitable… within months, Century 21 will be filling our streets with tourists and frantic shoppers gone giddy for discounts. Racked reports that construction on the space, which used to hold the Lincoln Triangle Barnes & Noble (Broadway and 66th) that closed at the end of 2010, has begun. They snapped [...]
The sad closing of the Lincoln Triangle Barnes & Noble (Broadway at 66th) is right around the corner, with the bookstore officially shutting its doors on January 2nd. If you are looking for an incredible deal on books, stop by the store this week and check out some of what is left of their inventory [...]
