If you couldn’t stand waiting one more day for the official opening of the new UWS Century 21 (Braodway & 66th), the feeling was apparently mutual — the store opened today, one day earlier than planned.

Today was the first day of Century 21′s soft-open and bargain hunters were already on the prowl. @ReporterLeslie was on the scene and reports “the discounts are just as deep, but Century 21′s new Upper West Side store is sleeker, tidier, and more shopper-friendly than its downtown flagship.”

Looks like Spices & Tease, first scheduled to launch by June, is getting ready to finally open their doors. As mentioned last month, the new Century 21 at Broadway & 66th is opening next Thursday, September 22nd. If that’s too long to wait, they’re having a special soft-opening event tomorrow through Saturday.

It’s been almost exactly a year since news first broke that the Barnes & Noble at 66th & Broadway was closing and would be replaced by clothing store Century 21. To celebrate that anniversary of sorts, the store now has an official opening date.
