The new Brooks Brothers (2381 Broadway, between 87th & 88th), first mentioned back in November, officially opened last week. They were aiming to be open by February and their signage had said “Spring 2012,” so if you split the difference it appears they were able to meet their goals.

Posted back in October that Irving Farm Coffee Company was opening an outpost on the Upper West Side. Things have been quiet since then, but they’ve started to heat up recently — the tell-tale “Coming Soon” signage is now hanging outside their future home at 224 West 79th (between Broadway & Amsterdam).

Posted back in November about how Papasito Mexican Grill & Agave Bar (2708 Broadway, between 104/105) was quickly taking the role of “Most Hated Bar/Restaurant On The Upper West Side” since the shuttering of Bar 420 in October (Papasito only opened in September). So it was really only a matter of time before the seemingly [...]

Much maligned 420 Bar (420 Amsterdam, at 80th) seems to have finally met its demise. This should be welcome news to neighbors who have e-mailed and tweeted to say how much they hate the place. According to notices taped to its door, the property has been seized by city marshals and the bar has been [...]
