Wrote last month that Good Enough To Eat — an Upper West Side fixture for 30+ years — was relocating from 483 Amsterdam to 520 Columbus (at 85th). GETE officially closed shop on Amsterdam yesterday and had their grand opening on Columbus earlier tonight.

Wrote last month that the historic UWS Emerald Inn was getting close to opening at their new location (250 W. 72nd, between West End & Broadway). Thanks to MUW reader Hope, who reports the “new” Emerald is now officially open.

Gotham Burger Company opened for business on the Upper West Side earlier this evening. The kosher burger restaurant based out of Teaneck, NJ is located at 726 Amsterdam (between 95th & 96th).

Meant to post this last month and it got completely lost in the shuffle. Popular Australian gastropub The Sunburnt Calf has shuttered (226 W. 79th, between Amsterdam & Broadway). MUW reader David reports that Rose Deli (104 W. 96th, between Amsterdam & Columbus) is closing. Not sure on the exact timing of the closing, but David notes that everything in the store is now 50% off. Elsewhere…

Wrote earlier this month that Chinese restaurant Legend unexpectedly took over popular Malayasian restaurant Penang at 127 W. 72nd (Amsterdam/Columbus). There’s some action brewing at the old Cardeology space at 452 Amsterdam (81st/82nd) — a new store called Treat House is gearing up to open. It’s billed as “the first crisped rice treat emporium.”

Posted back in March that the Barney’s Co-Op at 2151 Broadway (between 75th & 76th) is slated to undergo a renovation and re-branding. As you can see in the photo above, that process has begun.

Looks like gift/toy store Maxiga has closed — the windows are papered up and no one is answering their phone at their 2233 Broadway location (between 79th & 80th). Maxiga opened on the Upper West Side back in September 2011 (this space used to house a Best Buy Mobile store).

Wrote back in February about plans for the Aldo shoe store at 2345 Broadway (at 86th) to relocate two blocks south to the former Coach store space at 2321 Broadway (at 84th). They’re finally getting close to opening.

If you blinked, you may have missed it — Malaysian restaurant Penang (172 W. 72nd, between Amsterdam & Columbus) has unexpectedly shuttered It has been immediately replaced by the second Upper West Side outpost of Chinese restaurant Legend, joining the one that opened at 258 W. 109th (near Broadway) back in December.
