Posted back in December about an early-morning fire that ripped through Georgia’s Cafe & Bakery (2418 Broadway, at 89th) — they’ve been closed ever since. Staff had originally said they planned to reopen “soon” after the fire, but it looks like that won’t be the case, as “For Rent” signage went up yesterday.

Thanks to my coffee-addicted girlfriend for sending this in… Apparently Starbucks is having a caffeine special through Wednesday at all their locations, including the 18 or so that are located on the Upper West Side.

Posted back in October that Irving Farm Coffee Company was opening an outpost on the Upper West Side. Things have been quiet since then, but they’ve started to heat up recently — the tell-tale “Coming Soon” signage is now hanging outside their future home at 224 West 79th (between Broadway & Amsterdam).
