Wrote back in October that a new pharmacy was slated to open at 215 W. 79th (between Broadway & Amsterdam). The space became vacant in September 2011, when previous tenant Rodos Interiors relocated to Brooklyn. The aptly named 79th Street Pharmacy finally opened for business earlier today. UPDATE 2/13: A letter from the owners of [...]

If you live in the West 80s or 90s and were getting jealous of the fact that the West 70s had both a Magnolia and a Crumbs, your cupcake inferiority complex may officially be over. First, Baked By Melissa opened at 2325 Broadway (between 84th & 85th) two weeks ago. Now, the Crumbs slated for [...]

Well that was fast! Slightly Oliver (511 Amsterdam, between 84th & 85th) went from “Coming Soon” to “Open” in less than 10 days. They had a soft-opening for friends and family last night night and are officially open for business starting today (thanks to MUW readers Johnny Scats & Mark).

Per GrubStreet: “The [...]
Brew York City, the beer purveyor located in the new Duane Reade on Broadway & 72nd, is offering two free pint glasses (pictured) with the purchase of two new growlers on Sunday. 64 oz growlers run $7.99 (about $2/pint). They offer an excellent assortment of beers, many of which can be hard to find, especially [...]

The Upper West Side’s newest Duane Reade is sure getting a lot of attention this week… after the massive store on the second floor of The Corner (Broadway at 72nd) opened a few days ago, it first got some flack for the bright video billboard illuminating the outside corner of the building. Now, attention is [...]

Along with the opening of the gigantic second-floor Duane Reade in the new building at 72nd and Broadway came a huge bright sign. The video billboard, installed last week, displays advertisements such as beer sold in “growler” form and [...]

It’s looking more and more inevitable… within months, Century 21 will be filling our streets with tourists and frantic shoppers gone giddy for discounts. Racked reports that construction on the space, which used to hold the Lincoln Triangle Barnes & Noble (Broadway and 66th) that closed at the end of 2010, has begun. They snapped [...]
