Didn’t get a chance to mention this yesterday, but the MTA’s FASTRACK maintenance program continues this week. This time it’s affecting the A and C lines (plus the E, although that’s not an UWS line). As a result, there are station closings and service changes from 10:00 pm – 5:00 am through Friday morning.

The MTA’s FASTRACK maintenance program returns this week. This time it’s affecting the 1/2/3 lines — the primary subway artery of the Upper West Side. As a result, there are major service changes over the next four nights from 10:00 pm – 5:00 am.

Women’s clothing boutique Variazioni has been busy on the Upper West Side of late. In April, they opened opened their second neighborhood store at 2659 Broadway (corner of 101st). On  Monday, they opened their third at 181 Columbus (corner of 68th).

Looks like there’s finally some action brewing in the former 90 Nuts space at 2442 Broadway (near 90th), which has been vacant for awhile.

Looks like there’s finally some serious action going on at the dilapidated corner of Broadway & 80th, previously home to H & H Bagels for nearly 40 years. Plywood went up today around both the former H & H spot, as well as the adjacent two spaces that used to house Magic Smile and Oz [...]

Posted last month that Fratelli la Bufala was slated to open on March 27th. That date came and went without any activity, but now the wait is really just about over. I attended a preview event at the restaurant this afternoon and, barring the unforeseen, they’ll be open for business starting on Friday (4/27).

Multiple readers have written in over the past week or so that P.D. O’Hurley’s at West End (250 W. 72nd, between West End & Broadway) has recently closed. We won’t have to wait long to find out what’s moving in, as an awning for a new place called The Purple Fig has already gone up.

The MTA is continuing their FASTRACK maintenance program this week. Like they did in March, they’ll be closing numerous A/C/E stations each night this week. If you rely on the A or C to get to or from the UWS, take note of the following service changes:

The UWS is losing a mini-Hollywood landmark of sorts. Cafe Sonatina (106 W. 69th), which played the part of Meg Ryan’s Shop Around The Corner in You’ve Got Mail, is now closed.
