Wrote last week that the Upper West Side had lost two frozen yogurt shops with the closings of Frozen Peaks (2541 Broadway) and Yapple (2056 Broadway). Now comes word that a new froyo spot is stepping in to pick up the slack: Yogurtland is opening their fourth NYC location — and second on the UWS [...]
Posted on Monday that Frozen Peaks had closed at Broadway & 95th. Perhaps winter is a bad time to sell frozen yogurt, because Yapple (2056 Broadway, between 70th & 71st) has also recently shuttered.
Good news if you have a sweet tooth — the Upper West Side just got a new bakery. It’s even better news if you’ve got dietary restrictions, as the menu is both gluten free and dairy free. By The Way Bakery opened at 2442 Broadway (between 90th & 91st) last week.
It’s been about three weeks since Pinkberry opened at 414 Amsterdam (near 80th). In another month or two, a Yogurtland will open about 100 feet north at 420 Amsterdam, the long-vacant space that use to house 420 Bar & Lounge.
Wrote back in April that Pinkberry was headed to the former Savann space a 414 Amsterdam (between 79th & 80th). Word came last month that they were aiming to open in June and they’ve managed to hit that target — the store opened earlier this week.
There’s some action brewing at the old Cardeology space at 452 Amsterdam (81st/82nd) — a new store called Treat House is gearing up to open. It’s billed as “the first crisped rice treat emporium.”
Broadway in the West 90s is rapidly becoming a mecca for all things relating to frozen yogurt. There’s the iCrave at Broadway & 95th, a Lite Choice across the street, a Tasti D-Lite half a block away, and a 16 Handles three blocks north. As of today, you can add Pinkberry to the list — [...]
Previously posted in June & in September about the 7-Eleven slated for the former Gourmet Garage space at 2567 Broadway (between 96th & 97th). When Gourmet Garage closed last December, the early rumor was that the space would be subdivided into two units. It looks like that’s the case, with 7-Eleven only taking the northern [...]
Mentioned the new UWS location of Berrylicious last night (641 Amsterdam, at 91st). If you’re looking for a good excuse to try them out, how about a free 25% off coupon as encouragement?
A quick heads up for 16 Handles lovers (and judging by the lines at their two UWS locations, there are lots of you…) They’re running a promotion this week called “Flaunt Your Flavor” and giving away coupons for free frozen yogurt.
