It’s becoming harder to get your sugar fix on the Upper West Side these days. Yesterday came word that Choco Bolo (temporarily) closed. Now it looks like the UWS Grom Gelato is no more (2165 Broadway, btw. 76th/77th). MUW reader Kimberly snapped the photo above, showing the popular store closed for good yesterday.

The Village Voice recently put together a “10 Best Gelatos In New York” list and the UWS managed a single entry: Grom Gelato (2165 Broadway, btw. 76th/77th) came in at #9.

If you’re a gelato fan (and whom among us isn’t?) take note of today’s deal from long-time neighborhood fixture Pappardella (316 Columbus, at 75th).

Looks like the Screme Gelato at 2030 Broadway (between 69th & 70th) is temporarily closed. Thanks to MUW reader (and K-12 classmate of mine) Jessica for the tip.

Let me preface this by saying that I’m a fan of Screme Gelato — in fact, I already said as much back in June. I’ve been to their store, I’ve been to their cart, and I’ve recommended them to people. That said… they’re now offering what has to be the worst Groupon I’ve ever seen. [...]

I’m not sure how it managed to last this long, but the lone porn/sex shop on the Upper West Side has finally closed.

Pappardella (316 Columbus, at 75th) is offering a pretty sweet deal (weak, I know) until tomorrow through LivingSocial. For $10 you’ll get five servings from their gelato bar, a savings of 60%. At $2 a serving, that’s a screaming deal compared to most gelato options in the neighborhood. It can be used over multiple visits, [...]
Each month, My Upper West chooses an Upper West Side business as Pick of the Month. These businesses are part of what makes our neighborhood great, and we highly recommend checking them out if you haven’t yet had the chance. This month’s pick is Screme Gelato Bar, the gelato spot that opened a location on [...]
Lincoln Center’s campus has been getting closer to completing their $1.2 billion transformation that began in 2006 and is scheduled to be completed in late 2011/early 2012. Today, Lincoln Center will open the Illumination Lawn (near 65th between Broadway and Amsterdam), along with other public spaces on the campus. To celebrate of these new public [...]
After the block of Broadway between 58th and 59th became somewhat destitute, with several storefronts closing and staying closed (minus a Halloween costume pop-up store) for months, things are looking a little brighter these days. A new location of argo tea café, the Chicago/NYC chain of signature and unique teas, is opening on the block. [...]
