Annual Central Park Film Festival Starts Tonight (Thursday, 8/22); Five Nights Of Free Outdoor Movies

The rain is gone and the sky is getting sunny just in time… Tonight (Thursday, 8/22) marks the start of the the 11th annual Central Park Conservancy Film Festival. There will be free screenings in the park, under the stars, for the next five nights (through Monday, 8/26).

FRIDAY 3/29: Midnight Screening Of “The Shining”

“Heeere’s Johnny!” If you’re looking for a little late-night entertainment on Friday (3/29), the Film Society of Lincoln Center is screening Stanley Kubrick’s 1980 classic The Shining as part of their “Midnight Movies” series.

TONIGHT: Nora Ephron Double Feature, Including Rooftop Screening Of “When Harry Met Sally”

Listed this in the daily “Free & Cheap UWS Events” post, but I thought it deserved it’s own mention. There’s a great Nora Ephron double feature retrospective in the neighborhood tonight, including a rooftop screening of When Harry Met Sally. Ms. Ephron, a native Upper West Sider, died last month.
