I’ve updated the post to reflect that the Upper West Side actually has FIVE of the top 10 spots, not just four as I had originally written. Posted last week that UWS Grom Gelato [...]
According to a recent post on Zagat.com, the Upper West Side is home to three of NYC’s “Top Ten Most Overrated Dishes.” Feel free to take a guess based on the photos above — I’ll wait…
Looking for an Upper West Side foodie date for that won’t break the bank? Eater just put out a list of five “Cheap-Ass Foodie Dates” — a drink, dinner, and dessert for about $20/person — and one of them involves three UWS locales.

Looks like the former TD Ameritrade space at 2039 Broadway (at 70th) has found a new tenant. MUW reader Eric reports a Ricky’s is moving into the space. Information comes via a conversation he had with contruction workers that went like this: Eric: “Hey, what’s moving in here?” Construction guy: “Ricky’s.”

MUW reader Kevin (who has become a de facto staff photographer of sorts) noticed the plywood covering the Milk Bar storefront (561 Columbus, at 87th) has been removed [...]
Today was supposed to be the official opening of the new Upper West Side Milk Bar. Unfortunately, if you were hoping to pick up some Crack Pie on your way home from work you’re SOL — it looks like you’re going to have to wait until at least this weekend.

Mentioned back in May that Vai Restaurant/Wine Bar was moving back to the neighborhood after being forced out of their 77th Street location by condo construction. They’ve been having some sort of unofficial soft-opening over the past few days and MUW reader Jay was able to sample some of their goods. Per Jay:
If last night’s news about a new Crumbs Bake Shop didn’t get your blood-sugar levels jumping for joy, perhaps this will: The rumored Upper West Side Momofuku Milk Bar opening mentioned last month is a rumor no more. In a matter of weeks you’ll be able to get all the Crack Pie (and other decadent [...]
