West 82nd Street, between Columbus & Central Park West: This street will be closed Saturday and/or Sunday from 8am to 3pm to facilitate crane operation.
Broadway, between 110th & 116th: This street will be closed Saturday morning/afternoon for the 18th Annual Upper Broadway Autumn Fesitval.

Just a quick update on subway service as you try to make your way home tonight. If you missed it earlier, a massive water main break on the Upper West Side has severely impacted service on the A/B/C/D lines.

Well here’s something you don’t see every day — Central Park West and surrounding streets temporarily turned into a river earlier today. The culprit was a massive, 30-inch, nearly 100-year-old, water main break. Service on the A/B/C/D subway lines is completely screwed up as a result.

If you haven’t already heard the news, all mass transit (subways, buses, MetroNorth trains, etc.) will be shut down tomorrow at 12:00 pm in preparation for Hurricane Irene. The city is considering suspending all taxi service as well.
