Disturbing news to start the week: DNAinfo reports that the Dunkin’ Donuts at 2424 Broadway (between 89th & 90th) was robbed by a gun-toting thief last night. The incident occurred around 10:00 pm. There were no injuries and the crook, who remains at large this morning, got away with “an undetermined amount of money.”

Well this must have been more than a little embarrassing… A couple fell out of a row boat and into the Central Park lake yesterday afternoon, drawing a rather large FDNY and NYPD response, including helicopters, to the scene.

Wrote last month about the NYPD’s search for man pictured above in connection with ten armed robberies/muggings on the UWS. In each case, the suspect allegedly followed his victim into their building before holding them up with either a gun or knife. Police say they now have the man in custody.

Yoselyn Ortega
Yoselyn Ortega, the nanny accused of killing 2-year-old Leo and 6-year-old Lucia (Lulu) Krim in their Upper West Side apartment in October, has been found fit to stand trial. The decision was based on reports by two psychiatrists and announced in Manhattan Supreme Court earlier today.

The NYPD Harbor Unit pulled the body of a 25-year-old man out of the Hudson River on Monday afternoon. Found near the 79th Street Boat Basin, early reports indicate the death may have been a suicide.
