Posted last week that a group of Occupy Wall Street “Occu-Pirates” had set-up a sailboat-based encampment and drum protest at the 79th Street Boat Basin. Thankfully, it looks like that drumming activity is not something most people on the Upper West Side will have to listen to as they stroll along the river.

The UWS and UES have long had political stigmas attached to them. If recent fundraising figured from the campaigns of President Obama and likely Republican challenger Mitt Romney are any indication, those stigmas still hold true — the UWS is blue and the UES is red.

Refugees of the Occupy Wall Street protests have been looking for a home ever since they were kicked out of Zuccotti Park. For the time being, at least some of them seem to have found one on the Upper West Side.

Looks like the protesters down in Zuccotti Park would be better situated if they moved on up to the UWS. Apparently the 10023 zip code has the “largest number of very rich households” in the United States. Suck on that, Upper East Side!

It was just over two weeks ago that Occupy Wall Street protesters marched on the Upper West Side (click here for video), starting at Broadway & 95th and finishing at Columbus Circle. Today, the UWS will be the site of yet another march. A coalition of community organizations, elected officials, and labor unions plans to [...]

If you live near Broadway between 95th & Columbus Circle and heard throngs of people chanting folk songs last night, you weren’t alone. Occupy Wall Street made its way north on Friday night for a 30+ block march from Symphony Space at Broadway & 95th down to Columbus Circle. Folk music legends Pete Seeger and [...]

Looks like all the hoopla about “Occupy Wall Street” possibly taking over Lincoln Center last night was for naught. Despite statements on occupywallst.org about standing in solidarity with the previously scheduled Granny Peace Brigade protest last night, it appears OWS’ presence was near zilch.

If you live near Lincoln Center and were expecting some peace and quite tonight, you might be in for surprise. Occupy Wall Street is heading north this evening, with a rally at at the normally sedate Lincoln Center scheduled for 7:00 pm tonight.
