Some disturbing Upper West Side news that broke last night — a teacher’s aide at P.S. 87 (160 W. 78th, between Amsterdam & Columbus) was arrested yesterday on charges that he sexually abused a student. Gregory Atkins, 56, was charged with sexual abuse, attempted criminal sex act, and endangering the welfare of a child.

Some nice news on a chilly but sunny Sunday… The Columbia student hit by a car last week at Broadway & 106th has been released from the hospital and is heading back to his home in Seattle to be with family.
