Wrote back in October about Park West, a bistro from the owner of neighborhood stalwart Pomodoro that was slated for 103 W. 70th (between Amsterdam & Columbus). Six months later, it’s finally here — the bar/restaurant opened its doors on Saturday night.

Posted last month that upscale consignment shop Second Time Around was working on a second UWS location at 238 W. 72nd (between Broadway & West End). Word at that time was the store wouldn’t be opening until “sometime in November,” but it looks like that was a conservative estimate — the store opened for business [...]

You never know what, or whom, you’ll see while strolling down the streets of the Upper West Side and NYC. If you were on Columbus Avenue between 70th & 71st around noon on Friday, you could have spotted music legend Jon Bon Jovi hanging out at neighborhood fixture Pomodoro.

Some relocation and opening news that’s tied together: Down & Quilt Shop (518 Columbus, at 85th) recently closed and has relocated one block west on Amsterdam. Moving into the space is the uber-popular Birdbath Neighborhood Green Bakery, a “sister” bakery of Flatiron District fixture The City Bakery.
