Nice sunset shot snapped by @PictureMeinNYC in Riverside Park South last night (mid-60s). If you’re not familiar with this strip of the neighborhood, you can see the remains of the historic 69th Street Transfer Bridge, as well as Pier I jutting out into the Hudson at 70th Street. Those steel beams in the foreground are [...]

Looks like the weather should be great tomorrow night (Wednesday, 7/11) — high-70s with just a hint of a breeze. That’s should be just about perfect for a free evening screening of Cinema Paradiso on Pier I along the Hudson in Riverside Park South.

UPDATE 7/4: I’m now getting additional conflicting information on the Riverside Park South area. A representative from the Riverside Park Fund told me it would be open, while another source e-mailed me to confirm that their contact at the Parks Department is “adamant” it will close. I believe there my be some confusion between the [...]

Posted last week that a group of Occupy Wall Street “Occu-Pirates” had set-up a sailboat-based encampment and drum protest at the 79th Street Boat Basin. Thankfully, it looks like that drumming activity is not something most people on the Upper West Side will have to listen to as they stroll along the river.
