I’ve been traveling since last week and am catching up on news, so you may have heard about this already. A 63-year-old man was struck and killed by a downtown 2 train at the 72nd Street subway station early Sunday morning.

Just a quick reminder that tonight is the final night of FASTRACK maintenance service on the A/C/E subway lines. If you plan to take any of those trains (specifically the A & C) to or from the UWS tonight between 10 pm and 5 am, click here for full details on station closings and reroutings.

The MTA continues their FASTRACK maintenance program this week. Previously, B and D trains were affected. This time around it’s the A, C, and E (although the latter isn’t UWS specific). If you ride those lines, be aware there are major service changes over the next four nights.

It was big news last week that two people were struck by trains at the 72nd Street 1/2/3 subway station (coverage here, here, and here). It now appears as though it’s possible a third person was hit by an uptown 1 train at the 59th Street/Columbus Circle station late on Thursday night.

Posted yesterday that one of the two people hit by a subway on the Upper West Side on Wednesday was ruled as a suicide. That has now been reclassified as “an accident.”
