Looks like Daniel’s Cleaners (343 Amsterdam, between 76th & 77th) is closing. I’ve heard from a few readers this is one of the more popular cleaners/tailors in the neighborhood.

Posted yesterday that H&M opened their new UWS store this morning at the Time Warner Center. Tomorrow morning (Friday, 11/16) they’re giving away gift cards ranging in value from $10 – $500 to the first 100 customers.

UWS Openings & Closings: Second Time Around, The Purple Fig, Lansky’s, Yapple, C. Wonder

  It’s been almost a year since upscale consignment shop Second Time Around opened their first UWS store at 2624 Broadway (between 99th & 100th) last October. They’re now opening a second location a little further south in the neighborhood.

New UWS C. Wonder Hosts Grand Opening Festivities This Weekend; Free Gift Cards, Prizes, DJs & More

I’ve been a bit negligent with follow-up posts, but the store is having its official grand opening this weekend. To celebrate, they’re hosting two days of festivities, including gift card giveaways, prizes, games, refreshments, a DJ, and more.

UPDATE 11/15: H&M is now open There have been rumors swirling for a while that clothing retailer H&M was looking for space on the UWS. Now there’s conformation — the chain will open a store in the Time Warner Center this fall.

Upper West Side Openings & Closings: Baked By Melissa, Godiva, J. Crew

If you happen to think the Upper West Side doesn’t have enough cupcake options, you’ll be pleased to know we’re getting one more. Crain’s reports that Baked By Melissa has just signed a 10-year lease at 2325 Broadway (between 84th & 85th). Thanks to MUW reader Christina for the link.

Racked (via Women’s Wear Daily) reports that J. Crew is opening a men’s shop at the Time Warner Center. Per Racked: Taking a page from the Soho and Madison Avenue men’s stores, the new shop will include a suiting department, a shirt shop, shoes, and “third-party” items.
