The Village Voice recently published their annual “Best Of NYC” list and the Upper West Side is pretty well represented. Like any “Best…” list, I’m sure not everyone will agree with the choices. Still, I’d rather have these ten than none.

It’s been almost exactly a year since news first broke that the Barnes & Noble at 66th & Broadway was closing and would be replaced by clothing store Century 21. To celebrate that anniversary of sorts, the store now has an official opening date.

@chippygee tweeted last night night that at least one of the two new UNIQLO pop-up stores mentioned earlier in the week is supposed to be open as of 10:00 am today.

Those two empty storefronts pictured above (Broadway, btw. 87/88, left & Broadway, btw. 61/62, right) won’t be vacant much longer. UPDATE 8/13: The store between 61st & 62nd appears to be open now – no confirmation on the other one yet.
