UPDATE 9/8: Man and dog are doing fine
A “visually impaired” man walking with his service dog was “clipped” by a northbound 1 train this morning at the 66th Street subway station.
NBC New York reports the man “was apparently walking too close to the tracks” when he was struck around 10:20 am today.
DNAinfo makes no mention of the man being visually impaired, but reports that he was in “stable condition.”
Service was briefly suspended following the incident but appears to be running normally again.
