322-Sq-Ft CPW Apartment to be Auctioned Off By Owner
Bill Ackman, founder and CEO of Pershing Square Capital Management, has put his 19th floor luxury apartment in the Majestic (115 Central Park West, near 71st) up for sale, listed through his mother-in-law for $7.9 million, according to Curbed. But in order for him to move his digs from the Majestic to his new upgraded apartment in the Beresford (211 Central Park West, near 81st), the building requires him to sell his other apartment in the building. As a result, Ackman has put up his one-bedroom, one-bath, 322-square-foot “guest suite” on the 18th floor up for sale. Purchased in 2007 for $450,000 and upgraded with $250,000 worth of renovations, Ackman is now asking $950,000. If not sold for that price by Tuesday, December 8th, Ackman himself will auction off the apartment from his 19th floor apartment, providing “excellent wines” for auction participants. So if you have around $1 million to drop on 322 square feet of prime location space, get ready to bid!
