Developer Glennwood Management is planning to build a 54-story luxury rental building  on West 62nd between Amsterdam & Columbus. This is the same block where Fordham University is building a 22-story building to house its law school students.

DNAinfo reports that Glennwood hope to complete the construction within two years, and that 68 of the 339 units will be set aside for as affordable housing. Units will range in size from studios to 3-bedrooms.

This site was previously targeted by Douglaston Development in 2006 for a 57-story tower, but that plan fell apart when the economy headed south. Glennwood bought the property and feels confident that now is a good time to go ahead with the project.
