5th Annual “New Taste Of The Upper West Side” On Friday & Saturday; Limited Tickets Still Available

Posted back in February that tickets for the the 5th Annual “New Taste Of The Upper West Side” food festival were on sale.
I have literally no idea where the past three months have gone, but we’re now just a day away from what’s probably the Upper West Side’s “signature” event.
If you haven’t bought you’re ticket yet, there are a limited number still available.
If you’re not familiar with it, New Taste is a fantastic neighborhood food festival that brings together a veritable “Who’s Who” of Upper West Side chefs and restauranteurs for two nights tastings, booze, and music under a grand tent on Columbus, between 76th & 77th.
You can view all the details at NewTasteUWS.com (they’ve also got loads of pictures on their Facebook page).
New Taste is broken down into to main events: “Comfort Classics” on Friday (5/18) and “Best of The West” on Saturday (5/19). Tickets are sold separately for each night:
Adam Richman from TV’s Man vs. Food, along with Andrew Zimmern from Travel Channel’sBizarre Food, will host the Friday night event. Saturday night’s festivities will be co-hosted by famed food critic Gael Greene, along with special guest Tony Abou-Ganim (The Modern Mixologist).
I was lucky enough to be invited to the Comfort Classics/Best Of The West events last year and had a great time. In addition to unlimited tastings from some of the best restaurants in the city, there’s also a plentiful amount of booze (beer, liquor, wine, and more) from a variety of vendors.
Last year their was a vendor giving out alcoholic chocolate milk… good times.
The list of this year’s New Taste participants is extensive — you can see a full list here (Comfort Classics) and here (Best Of The West). Some of the top names include:
- Daniel Boulud (Bar Boulud)
- Jean-Georges Vongerichten (Jean Georges)
- Marc Murphy (Ditch Plains, Landmarc)
- Jonathan Benno (Lincoln)
- Maria Loi (Loi)
- Michael Lomonaco (Porter House)
- Cesare Casella (Salumeria Rosi)
- Michael Psilakis (Fishtag, Kefi)
- Juan Carlos Ortega (Atlantic Grill)
- Jim Burke (Caffe Storico)
- John Fraser (Dovetail)
- Jesus Nunez (Gastroarte)
The list goes on, and on…
Ticket’s obviously aren’t cheap, but unlimited food from some of the top restaurateurs in the neighborhood (to go along with unlimited booze) is a splurge that many people seem to consider worthwhile.
