Amazing $16 Million UWS “Unattainable” Apartment Has Public Open House On Sunday

Saturday, October 15th, 2011

Last month MUW featured an absurdly awesome $16.4 million townhouse at 116  W. 71st as the UWS “Unattainable” Apartment Of The Week.

Shortly after the post went up, I received an e-mail from Jason Haber, the CEO of Rubicon Property and the agent for the listing. He wrote that because of the LEED certification process for the building, they were holding a series of public open houses. The first was on Sunday, 9/25 — they had over 150 people, more than half of whom came via MyUpperWest.

If you couldn’t make it on 9/25 and thought you missed your chance to observe some hardcore “real estate porn” up-close-and-personal, fear not. A second open house will be held tomorrow (Sunday 10/16) from 12:00 – 4:00 pm. Per Jason:

To continue in our LEED certification compliance we will be hosting an open house on Sunday at 116 West 71st Street from noon to 4pm.

We will be asking people to take off their shoes since the floors were just cleaned.

For each person who signs-in, we’ll be donating $1 to our clean water campaign at charity: water.

If you’re looking for something non-traditional to do tomorrow afternoon, this is definitely worth checking out. Unless you’re normally in the market for $16 MM townhouses, it’s a rare opportunity to some amazing NYC real estate in person. Just try not to drool on the freshly cleaned floors…
