AMNH Tonight: Planet Party at Dawn with Joe Rao
The American Museum of Natural History (AMNH, Central Park West at 79th) puts on an event on the last Tuesday of each month called “Celestial Highlights,” where you can enjoy a live presentation under the brilliant stars of the Zeiss Mark IX Star Projector. This tour of the heavens offers a view of the constantly changing night sky, including the current positions of the Moon, planets, and stars, along with occurrences of meteor showers, eclipses, and conjunctions. Tonight, come to the Planet Party at Dawn edition, where October’s predawn hours offer a glimpse of Venus, Saturn, and Mercury gathering in the eastern sky.
