Open House New York weekend, one of NYC’s best annual happenings and America’s largest architect and design event, is just around the corner — tours take place 10/15 & 10/16 (Saturday & Sunday).

If you’re not familiar with it, I reccommend you take a look at both the official site and recent posts from Curbed and the Village Voice as a primer. Most events are free, although some require reservations (and a $5 fee), which began yesterday. I wanted to post this earlier, but their website was being a bit wonky yesterday due to overwhelming demand and I put it off.

Admittedly, many of the best events are located outside of the Upper West Side. Still, there are a variety of options in the neighborhood, including:

  • Frederick P. Rose Hall
  • Lincoln Center
  • First Church of Christ, Scientist
  • Congregation Shearith Israel
  • First Babtist Church
  • Swedish Cottage Marionette Theatre
  • Old Croton Aqueduct Walking Tour
  • Church Of St. Paul & St. Andrew
  • St. Ignatius of Antioch Episcopal Church
  • Sun Works Center for Environmental Studies
  • Cathedral Church of St. John the Divine
  • General Grant National Memorial

LandmarkWest put together a nice little write-up some of these locations that’s definitely worth checking out.

The full city-wide list of venues can be viewed here. I’m linking to their “map view,” but you can also peruse as a grid of photos or by alphabetical order.
