Apparently, Upper West Siders Don’t Care about Chick-Fil-A

Eater reports that an Upper West Side Chick-Fil-A giveaway was surprisingly tame on Friday, despite a big production, cow suits and all, to promote the fast food chain. At 11:00 am, the first 300 to come to the temporary Chick-Fil-A area at the plaza of the American Museum of Natural History (Central Park West at 79th) received a free fried chicken sandwich from a rep dressed like a cow, and soon after, a double decker bus pulled up with more Chick-Fil-A cows tossing cow Pez dispensers to the crowd. Despite the publicity and fanfare, there were still plenty of sandwiches at 11:20, showing a lack of excitement from Upper West Siders about Chick-Fil-A. When the giveaway moved to Bryant Park, however, there was a different vibe… New Yorkers went crazy for their chicken. After Friday, our guess is that, if an actual Chick-Fil-A restaurant comes to town, it won’t be in our neighborhood. Check out more photos of the UWS Chick-Fil-A giveaway on Eater.
