Best Of Central Park
NearSay contributor Toni Cruthirds recently had a nice round-up of some of the best features of Central Park.
I have to admit, somewhat sheepishly, that most of my visits to Central Park have revolved around softball or baseball. When I lived in the East 30s it was just too far away to make the trek up, and in my year-and-a-half on the West Side, well, I’ve just sort of taken it for granted. Last weekend I was walking through the North Meadow to get to a baseball game and I thought to myself: “Self — you really need to spend more time exploring this place!” Toni’s guide is a good place to start. She covers:
- The Bethesda Terrace and Fountain
- The Blockhouse
- Sheep Meadow
- The Reservoir
- Strawberry Fields
- The Mall
- Conservatory Garden
Those links will take you to each site’s official webpage, but if you check out the original NearSay post you’ll see a brief paragraph summary for each.
