Breaking News: Bomb Scare at ASCAP Offices
Breaking news: A bomb scare occurred at the ASCAP office building (Broadway between 63rd and 64th) this afternoon. Witnesses reported that a bomb threat was called into the office, which is a membership association of more than 380,000 U.S. composers, songwriters, lyricists, and music publishers of every kind of music. The building was evacuated, including the adjoining offices like the corporate Sesame Street headquarters, along with the first floor restaurants like Bar Boulud. Police are currently searching for evidence of a bomb and questioning witnesses. Currently, the south side of 64th Street is closed to pedestrians, but according to witnesses, no danger has been found, and they expect to be able to re-enter the building soon.
