Celebrating the Super Bowl on the Upper West Side

superbowlxlivStill looking for a Super Bowl celebration?  Here are a few options on the Upper West Side for the big game.  One spot is The Abbey Pub on 105th between Broadway and Amsterdam, which will carry on an annual tradition of serving food in honor of the Super Bowl’s host city.  Tomorrow, head to the bar to enjoy draft and shot specials, pools and contests, and a menu that nods to Jacksonville, Florida (try items like the homage to road kill, “Brewster’s Stew”).  Another Upper West Side bar putting on a great Super Bowl party is the sports center Time Out, located on Amsterdam between 76th and 77th.  The bar is offering no cover (tables will have a $25 minimum) and no advance reservations required for the bar, along with $3 pints and $12 pitchers of Coors.  Other UWS bars that are sure to offer Super Bowl festivities include Blondies (79th at Broadway), Hi-Life Bar and Grill (Amsterdam at 83rd), Fatty Crab (Broadway between 76th and 77th), and Jake’s Dilemma (Amsterdam between 80th and 81st).  Hosting a party of your own, or keeping it low-key and watching the game from home?  Pour Wines (Amsterdam at 75th) is offering wine packages called Super Bowl Reds and Super Bowl Whites ($40 each), allowing you to pick up some delicious wines that were specially selected to perfectly complement Super Bowl foods.  Stop by to pick up your perfect football-watching wines today.
