glenn-closekaty-perry-russell-brandGlenn Close may be close to leaving the Upper West Side, as The New York Observer reports that her fabulous 2-bedroom, 2-terraced apartment in The Beresford (Central Park West between 81st and 82nd) has officially sold.  The apartment, which was originally listed at $11.8 million in February and was reduced to $10.8 million in March, sold for $10.2 million to Continental Properties managing partner Mark Fisch and his wife, according to city records.  No word yet on the move plans for Glenn Close and her husband, David Shaw.

In other celebrity real estate news, comedy/pop couple Russell Brand and Katy Perry, who are engaged to be married with an India wedding planned later this year, have been searching for a New York City home, with an active hunt for an apartment in the $3 million range, and their search has included an Upper West Side home.  The British-born comedian reportedly checked out a 1-bedroom, 1.5-bathroom apartment on the second floor in The Apthorp (Broadway near 79th).  The home has an asking price of $2.83 million.  While the home is in the celeb couple’s budget, we are still left scratching our heads at the prospect of their over-the-top personae taking residence on the Upper West Side.
