A famous NYC power couple has broken up and the guy has moved on, according to The New York Post (via Daily Intel). Pale Male and Lola, two red-tailed hawks who have been patrolling Central Park together since 2002, have broken up, according to reports. Lola appears to have flown the coop, and hasn’t been spotted since December 18th. She is presumed dead by bird enthusiasts. Pale Male doesn’t seem to be to broken up about it, however… he has taken up with a new female hawk, his fifth mate. The new girlfriend is much younger, at 3 or 4 years old, and has markings that are almost the complete opposite of Pale Male’s, with a dark head and deep-brown feathers on her chin and neck. Pale Male has been living in and around Central Park since 1991, fathering at least 23 chicks since. The current residence of he and his new gal pal (yet to be named) is a nest 12 stories up a ritzy building at 5th Avenue and 74th.
