Central Park Race this Saturday: Fred Lebow Classic
Attention runners: bundle up in your warmest gear, and join this Saturday’s five mile race in Central Park. New York Road Runners is putting on the annual Fred Lebow Classic to kick off the 2010 running season. The race, which honors Lebow (the NYC Marathon co-founder and NYRR president who changed the world through running before his untimely death from brain cancer in 1994), starts and ends near the 102nd Street Transverse on the east side of the park and runs the five miles on the jogger’s path. There is still room to register, and the race counts towards qualifying for the NYC Marathon, so sign up, get there early, and good luck!
