Posted earlier about a woman in her 70s who was allegedly attacked and raped in Central Park earlier today during broad daylight.

It’s a pretty horrific story, and NYT’s City Room blog just posted an update with additional details and a bizarre twist.

You can read the full story at NYT.com — frankly, it’s pretty fucked up.

The woman, 73, had apparently witnessed and photographed a man masturbating in the park about a week-and-a-half ago.

He confronted her and unsuccessfully tried to take her camera.

Police are saying that same man is the one who attacked and raped her earlier today, apparently first asking her “Do you remember me?”

The alleged attacker is described as “white and clean shaven, with a Russian accent and in his 40s or 50s.”
