“Cheap-Ass Foodie Date” On The Upper West Side

Looking for an Upper West Side foodie date for that won’t break the bank?

Eater just put out a list of five “Cheap-Ass Foodie Dates” — a drink, dinner, and dessert for about $20/person — and one of them involves three UWS locales.

The full list is available at EaterNY. The UWS “cheap-ass” date includes:

  • Drinks at Fatty Crab: Monday-Friday happy hour specials include $6 mixed well drinks (including Malaysian margaritas), $5 bottles of Tsing Tao, and $3 PBR tallboys
  • “Dinner” at Epicerie Boulud: DBGB Dog for $5.90
  • Dessert at Momofuku Milk Bar: Most desserts are under $6

I put “dinner” in quotes because some people might consider a hot dog/sausage a stretch, no matter how fancy it might be. That said, if someone thinks they’re too good for a Boulud hot dog, they probably also think they’re too good for a $20 date.

I really like the idea of mixing and matching various UWS spots to put together a non-traditional night out on the cheap.
