city-winery-summerstageCentral Park’s SummerStage events are in full swing for the season, and now, City Winery is providing concertgoers with a nice perk… wine-to-go.  The winery has partnered with the City Parks Foundation to provide wine for the entire SummerStage 2010 season of free and paid concerts at Rumsey Playield (mid-park, near 70th).  Two custom-built mobile wine bars are pouring City Winery wines from an innovative tap system that will deliver wines right from the barrel to the glass.  According to City Winery, the system is “a popular presence in Europe,” permitting “the winemaking team to produce wines that contain less sulfites and preservatives, while avoiding some of the common manipulations are required when bottling wine for sale.”  The mobile wine truck offers five wine taps pouring City Winery’s handmade wines, including Sheep Meadow White, a stainless steel fermented Chardonnay, Central Park Syrah, a balanced yet rich Syrah blend, and Strawberry Fields Rose, a crisp and bright Rose.  Look for the distinctive trailer at your next SummerStage event to try City Winery’s wines from the mobile tap system.
