DNAinfo reports that a taxi crashed into the Columbus Circle LensCrafters store early this morning, sending the driver to the hospital with a head injury.  The 39-year-old driver reportedly crashed into the store just before 5:00 am today, shattering the LensCrafters window and an adjacent window belonging to Columbus Circle wines.  The vehicle remained on the sidewalk for over an hour while police, EMTs, and a tow truck worked on the scene.  No word on whether a passenger was in the taxi at the time of the accident or on the driver’s current condition.
