alicetullyIf you have walked by the newly remodeled Alice Tully Hall at Lincoln Center (66th and Broadway), you may have seen some not-too-descriptive signs about something coming soon.  Turns out, Lincoln Center and WNET.ORG are jointly gearing up to open a production facility and television studio inside the glass-walled first floor of the building.  According to a press release on the website for the television station Thirteen, the facility “will be used for the production of programming for two of WNET.ORG’s media outlets, Thirteen and WLIW21, the most-watched and the third most-watched public television stations in the nation.”  The studio will be used to produce the news program Worldfocus along with Thirteen’s weekly arts showcase SundayArts, while the facilities will be used for various purposes.  Because of the glass-walled design, passersby and the general public will be able to see the programming activity in the studio.  Check back to My Upper West for updates on the opening of the Thirteen/WNET facility.
