Day Of Discounts, Activites, & Conversation At David Rubenstein Atrium: Saturday, 6/11/11

Lincoln Center is hosting “Festival Day” tomorrow, in celebration of Lincoln Center Festival 2011 (more on that in an upcoming post). It takes place at the David Rubenstein Atrium (Broadway, between 62nd & 63rd).
The event is a chance to save as much as 20% on some of Lincoln Center’s most popular shows: the Royal Shakespeare Company, The Cleveland orchestra, Peter Brook-s A Magic Flute, and more.
Ticket promotions are are subject to availability, so it’s suggested you arrive early — the box office opens at 12:00 pm. You’ll also have a chance to meet artists, experts, and Lincoln Center staff as they discuss and answer questions about the upcoming festival. The day’s schedule is as follows:
- 12 pm — Box Office opens
- 1 pm — Casual Conversation about the Mariinsky Ballet led by a Lincoln Center Docent
- 3 pm — Chat about the RSC with Andrew Shuttleworth of the Facebook page “Shuttleworth on Shakespeare”
- 4 pm — David Michalek will discuss his “Portraits in Dramatic Time,” which will have its world premiere this summer
- 6 pm — WQXR’s Elliott Forrest and Paul Hawkshaw of the Yale School of Music will have a brief discussion on Bruckner
- 7 pm — First public screening of Bruckner’s Eighth Symphony by The Cleveland Orchestra
