Well that didn’t take long…

It was just the other day that Syms & Filene’s Basement raised their liquidation sale discounts to 30% – 50%.

As of yesterday, they’re now up offering 40% – 60% off. At this rate, things might actually be free by next week.

I feel like once you get past that “50% off” threshold, things start to get interesting. It may very well have been my imagination, but when I walked by yesterday after the new signage was up, the store certainly seemed busier.

Syms & Filene’s were known for discounts even before their liquidation started — at this point, there are some downright steals available if you’re willing to fight the crowds.

This discount increase is just the latest in a string that began last month. They started at 10% – 30% off, bumped to it 20% – 40% off, and then 25% – 40% before the flurry of increases over the past few days.

As a reminder, the liquidation sale is expected to continue through January. However, with discounts becoming steeper by the week, it’s probably going to be slim pickings if you wait much longer.
