If you’ve ever wanted to get up close and personal with Eva Longoria, tomorrow is your chance. The “Desperate Housewives” knockout will be signing copies of her new cookbook, “Eva’s Kitchen” at the Borders Books in the Time Warner Center starting at 6:30 pm on Monday, 4/4/11.

Due to the star’s popularity, it’s not as simple as just showing up at 6:30 with a book and a pen. Only customers with a wristband will be allowed to wait in line. So how do you get one?

A limited number of wristbands (I tried and failed to get two different salespeople to define “a limited number”) will be given to customers who purchase a copy of Eva’s Kitchen starting at 9 am Monday morning. A wristband guarantees you a place in line later in the day. The salespeople I spoke with suggested doing your book shopping early, as they WILL eventually run out of wristbands. I would think you should get there as early as possible if meeting her is a priority on your to-do list. “Eva’s Kitchen” costs $29.99.

Once you’ve purchased your book and have received your wristband, you’re free to go about your day. While the book signing starts at 6:30 pm, it’s suggested you arrive there earlier to secure a good place in line. The wristband guarantees you a place, but the later you get there, the further back you’re going to be. 5:00 to 5:30 might be a safe bet if you want to be near the front, but that’s just a guess.

Longoria will sign up to 10 books per person (I’d like to know who’s bringing ten copies with them) and will personalize the signing, but she will not sign anything else and will not pose for photos. You CAN take pictures of her while you’re waiting in line (and feel free to share them with alerts [at] myupperwest [dot] com if you do).
