Family Caught on Tape Going on UWS Shoplifting Spree

The New York Post obtained an unbelievable video of a family in the midst of an Upper West Side shoplifting spree in January, including a boy as young as 11 following an unidentified woman’s instructions. The woman entered the Always Love pharmacy near 72nd and Broadway on January 15th when the video was taken, and can be seen frantically shoving items into her bag while the clerk was turned around to swipe her credit card. The woman can be seen giving instructions to a boy, who in turn grabs items for her to put in her bag. A third person, an unidentified man in a gray skullcap, can be seen lurking in the background, likely acting as a lookout. The brazen theft at Always Love was only one act of crime for the theives… the credit card the woman used was allegedly stolen by the boy from an unattended baby stroller at The Gap on Broadway and 67th earlier that day, and the trio later frequented the GameStop on Broadway and 84th and used the stolen credit card to buy a video game and game player. Although the trio can be seen in the act on camera in The Post’s video, they remain unidentified and at large. Anyone with information is urged to call CrimeStoppers at (800) 577-TIPS, with calls remaining confidential.
