Famous UWS Restaurants Closed for Weeks

Wednesday, August 19th, 2009

picholine The NY Post reports that some big-name restaurants have decided to take an “end-of-summer break,” if you will, by closing down for the month of August, with some staying closed well into September.  Along with well-known restaurants throughout the city, there are some notable spots on the Upper West Side that will close their doors for a few weeks.  High-end French spot Picholine (64th between Broadway and Central Park West) is closed from August 16th to September 21st, and the classic Café des Artistes (67th between Columbus and Central Park West) will remain closed until September 14th.  According to insiders, the restaurants’ closing is due to the fact that customers are out of town for summer months, and that the closed doors are only temporary.

Did you see a temporary restaurant closing on the UWS?  Tell us… send as much information as possible to “alerts [at] myupperwest.com” and we might post it!
