This is slightly old news, but it happened over Labor Day weekend and I’m still trying to get caught up on posts.

A three-car crash on Sunday, 9/4, left six people injured and caused a Jeep Liberty to burst into flames.

DNAinfo has a brief write-up of the accident, which took place at Amsterdam & 104th, around 8:30 pm the evening before Labor Day. At the time, an FDNY spokesman said two people were seriously hurt and the other four had minor injuries. I haven’t been able to find any follow-up stories.

The video below is via Gothamist. It’s not the clearest thing in the world, but it shows a pretty massive car fire burning in the background — definitely not what anyone going for an evening stroll through the neighborhood was expecting to see that night. The caption on YouTube says “Just before the explosion,” although that doesn’t seem to have been captured on video.

The photos after the video are all from DNAinfo, and I believe they’re all by David Torres.
