“Free Cone Day” From Häagen-Dazs On Tuesday

Monday, May 7th, 2012

Good news if you’re a fan of free ice cream — Häagen-Dazs is running their annual “Free Cone Day” promotion tomorrow (Tuesday, 5/8/12).

From 4:00 – 8:00 pm, participating Häagen-Dazs stores will be giving away free scoops. On the Upper West Side, that includes the shops at 263 Amsterdam (btw. 72/73) and 2905 Broadway (btw. 113/114).

Two things to keep in mind:

  1. You’re going to have to beat back the Columbia students still left on campus if you go to the Broadway location
  2. Here’s a photo from last year’s Häagen-Dazs “Free Cone Day” (263 Amsterdam location)… is waiting in that line worth saving a couple of bucks? I don’t know — you decide… (apologies if I’ve now taken the joy out of this event).

The forecast for tomorrow calls for a 50% chance of showers. If it does rain, don’t assume the lines will be any shorter. It rained during Ben & Jerry’s free cone day last year and there was still a line around the block.

If anyone gets a good photo of the line to get in, please send it my way: alerts [at] myupperwest.com or @MyUpperWest
